Xinha for WordPress wouldn't be possible without the excellent work of the Xinha Team. They have written one heck of a browser editor package. My plugin is mostly a wrapper around their editor and its extensive configuration options.
Xinha for WordPress started out as a simple hardcoded wrapper but now allows WordPress admins to configure Xinha without editing the Xinha files by hand. This plugin does NOT provide options for every Xinha configuration option, however it includes most that are applicable to use in a WordPress environment. I will probably add further configuration options in later releases.
When I started writing this plugin, I wanted to make sure the administration panels were easy to use and easy to navigate. Those of you who use Spam Karma 2 written by Dr Dave will recognize the tabbed submenu style. SK2 served as a valuable outline and example for a WordPress plugin admin interface - it sets a gold standard of how a plugin should be administered. WPX includes some code fragments and CSS from SK2's admin interface. Excellent plugin Dave!
Xinha for Wordpress utilizes the Xinha package which is originally based on (but much changed since) htmlArea.

The folks developing WordPress have put together one of the best blogging packages by far. So if you're in the mood to donate, send a few bucks their way, as they have put in countless coding hours developing a world class piece of software. The Xinha developers are working hard towards a v1.0 release and while they don't take donations yet, if you know Javascript, they can use a few good programmers! If you happen to find my humble plugin worthwhile or are curious to see what else I might come up with for a WordPress plugin, feel free to help a fellow netizen pay the ever growing Internet bill by clicking the Donate button below:
Disclaimer: I have 4 kids, so you can expect a small percentage of the donations will end up in Captain Morgan's pocket. The Captain and I go WAY back. And if he's busy, Jack Daniels is always fun to be around.
